THE BEST PLACES TO WORK IN BALI

Life as a digital nomad often can mean that you are often hopping from one cafe to another, so I thought I’d list my top cafes to work from in Canggu, Bali. Please note that I only stay for a few hours, and always buy food/drinks as I want to help the Bali economy and be respectful of the owners of these awesome spots.

The Best Places To Work In Bali

For those that don’t know already, Bali was home for me for about three years. I came here for a month back in 2015, saw people working from laptops in cafes and these incredible villas, and knew I had to make this my life! Fast forward to now, and although Bali is not my permanent home, it is for a few months in the winters [excluding in covid of course]. I love coming here to catch some winter sun, surf, and see my friends.

Bali is a haven for digital nomads - and in general, a place where I felt like I could meet like-minded people - people who enjoy a more laid back lifestyle, away from the city life and the rat race. You meet people from all over the world, people who all took a leap of faith to leave their home country and start a new life in paradise. Canggu has fast become the spot to live for expats, with a bustling night life, decent surf breaks, and black sand beaches dotted with uber cool shops, western owned restaurants, and countless tattoo shops!

There are many co working spaces, cafes and restaurants to choose from, but on my checklist was air con, [working in the hot Bali heat is not very productive!], decent coffee, and of course - electric sockets. Here are my top 5 places to work in Canggu, Bali.

KINSHIP

Although Kinship does have a little cafe inside, it is actually a proper co-working spot, and my favourite one in Canggu. You can get monthly memberships, but I go once a week and pay the fee of 250,000 Indonesian Rupiah. This is fairly pricey, but it’s on days where I know I need to get a solid amount of work done and wont be distracted, so for me it is worth it.

They also have events, including member lunches, pottery classes, and co-working drinks, meaning it is a great place to meet fellow digital nomads.

CINTA

Located in Berawa, Cangu is Cinta - and although it doesn’t have air con, it has a lovely indoor part to the restaurant which is very shaded with lots of fans. The coffee is great, and I love coming here for their Berry Oatmeal for breakie.

THE COMMON

Located on the busy Batu Bolong road, The Common is a great spot day or night. If you go, make sure you try the Terriyaki Salmon bowl with Jamu on the side - this will fuel your brain for a few hours of work for sure!

HONEY

Honey is located in Perenan, and has everything you could want for a few hours of work - air con, electric sockets, and the food is great. There is something about the monochrome vibe that always puts me in a super productive mindset too!

NUDE

Nude is located in Bereawa and has a lovely air conditioned part for people on laptops. They also serve delicious food! It’s going through renovations at the moment, so I can only imagine it will come back even better than ever!
