VISIT LEKE LEKE WATERFALL IN BALI

If you are looking to experience the true beauty of Bali, then you must visit a waterfall whilst on this tropical island paradise. My favourite waterfall is Leke Leke watefall, and it is located only one hour’s drive from the popular spot of Canggu. This is your guide on everything you need to know about Leke Leke waterfall.

GETTING THERE

Most people in Bali travel around on scooter, and I would recommend using a scooter to get to the waterfall - it is the quickest and cheapest way of getting there. There are many places to hire scooters in Canggu [google ‘scooter hire Canggu’ and lots of companies will come up]. A month’s rental costs approx £30, and a full tank of petrol costs £3. Super cheap! You can even get scooter driving lessons through the hire company you choose if you are nervous about driving one.

If you don’t want to drive a scooter, you can rent a scooter or car taxi by downloading the app Go Jek, or you could hire a car and driver for the day. You can even do a North Bali Tour where the company will take you to a few different spots for the day. I prefer to do my adventures on my own as I find it more authentic that way, but a tour is a great option!

It’s easy to navigate your way to the waterfall - just put in ‘Leke Leke waterfall’ into Google Maps, and from Canggu it is pretty much one straight road north. Follow the map until you get to the end destination, and you will come to a sign saying ‘Leke Leke’ - this is where you can park your scooter.

PAYMENT

It costs 50,000 Indonesia Rupiah to enter - you will be asked to pay this at the sign. Then you just follow the steps and path down to the waterfall. It takes about 15 minutes to walk down to the waterfall - you will cross a wooden bridge over the river, and then start to hear the sounds of the water crashing. I recommend wearing good shoes for the walk as it can get quite get steep and slippery in some places [from all the spray!].

THE WATERFALL

You will walk through the jungle [look out for the incredible colourful plants and flowers as you walk through] and suddenly be greeted by the most extraordinary site - water cascading down approx 15 metres into the pool below. Check out my video of this on instagram here! I went at 8am and was the only one there for two hours! It was such a special moment to be surrounded by nature like this. There are little shelfs and two cubicles if you want to change into your swimmers and store your bag there whilst you swim in the waterfall.

Once you have finished taking in the sites of Leke Leke you walk back up the way you came. Don’t forget to stop at the restaurant at the top for a refreshing juice - you’ll probably need it after the sweaty walk back!

I hope you enjoy the waterfall as much as I did! For more travel tips follow me on instagram here.
