BEST PLACES TO REMOTE WORK FROM IN NEWQUAY, CORNWALL

As a remote worker I am always on the look out for new places to spend a few hours working from my laptop from, as I find mixing up where I’m working helps with my productivity, allows me to meet other remote workers, and well, the coffee is always better than I can make it. I’m fortunate enough to live in Newquay in beautiful Cornwall, and whilst I do work mostly from my little cottage, sometimes I venture out to work with friends or for a change of scenery. Here are my top places to work from in Newquay, Cornwall.

No. 1 Cubs Coffee

No. 1 Cubs Coffee is a cafe located on the ground floor of The Hangar, a co-working space located about ten minutes from Newquay town in St. Mawgan. You’ll need a vehicle to get there but there is lots of parking, and it’s free. Cub Coffee is the perfect space to be productive whilst enjoying a cup of their strong coffee or delicious home-made food - you must try their sweet potato Dahl! The space is designed so beautifully, and there is always a chilled playlist whirring around on the speakers - which to me is the perfect blend to get lots of work done.

SHIVA CAFE

Shiva Cafe is one of those places where you walk in and feel right at home - the staff are lovely, the coffee and food delicious, and it’s usually filled with locals chilling after a yoga class at Shiva Yoga & Pilates Studios or grabbing a coffee with friends. I always try to time my visit mid morning so it’s not too busy, because I don’t want to hog a table but also it can get pretty noisy with all its regulars, but if you are after some atmosphere though, and some seriously tasty food, this is the spot for it! They use coffee that originates from Burundi, which is among the smallest coffee-producing countries in East Africa, and it slaps,

THE BOWGIE INN

The Bowgie Inn is located in Crantock with stunning views over Crantock beach and the Cornish coastline, and they welcome remote workers which is lovely! The space is huge, so you won’t be short on finding a free table or even a booth, both inside or outside, meaning you won’t feel cramped or disturbed by other people. As well as lots of space, they have good wifi, good coffee, and good food. It doesn’t open until 12pm, but if you like to work late this could be the perfect spot for you.

LUSTY GLAZE

The cafe at Lusty Glaze beach is a winner - boasting a stunning view of the beach, a bright and airy space with lots of spaces to choose from, and a decent coffee. During the peak summer months it might get a little busy so just be wary of that.

NALU

Nalu always reminds me of the cute cafes in Bali - its cute, beachy and always has a delicious selection of treats on offer! It’s fairly small so unlike the Bowgie Inn that has plenty of space for people to work form, Nalu only has a few seats and a constant influx of people looking to sit down - so make sure you are respectful of their time here.

Fore Street - Food | Best Places To Remote Work From In Newquay

FORE STREET

This cute cafe, located in Newquay town centre, was the first place I ever remote worked in Newquay, so it has some sentimental value to me, but also - oh my god, the food. The mushroom brunch is to die for, and don’t even get me started on the pancakes! Grab a seat downstairs next to their cosy wood burner, or head upstairs and find a quieter spot.

THE COLONIAL

The Colonial is a restaurant located at Tolcarne Beach, so expect epic views [seriously, when you walk down the stairs from the road you’ll be pinching yourself that you can call this your office]. During the day it’s always fairly quiet, which is great for noise and seating options!

Newquay is full to the brim of cool hangouts and coffee spots - the above is just a snapshot and my personal faves! Be mindful that these are locally run businesses, so if you are using their wifi, try not to overstay your welcome, and make sure you are spending money whilst using their space. Enjoy!
