UK TRAVEL TIPS: CAMPSITES WITH A SEA VIEW IN CORNWALL

You don’t need me to tell you that camping in Cornwall is an absolute dream, and there are so many campsites to choose from all over the county. The beauty of camping in Cornwall is that you can wake up to sea views! So, here are my favourite campsites with a sea view in Cornwall.

The View, Watergate

Campsites With A Sea View In Cornwall

The View has a very special place in my heart as it was the place I long-term camped for two years in my van, and what eventually led me to fall in love with Cornwall so much that I decided to move here. So, why is it so great?

It doesn’t take an idiot to understand why it is called The View - you can have panoramic views of Newquay and the ocean from most of the pitches. Waking up to ocean views every morning was just incredible. Not only does it boast an insane view, but it is also just 15 minutes walk to Watergate Beach, one of Newquay’s best beaches and surfing spots. Cross the road and follow the coastal path down to the beach as it hugs the coastline. On Watergate Beach there is lots to do and see, so it’s the perfect place to be close to.

The View is actually part of a bigger Touring Park campsite, but is much smaller which I prefer. It does get full over the summer, no surprises there, but in the off-season it is so quiet and you really feel lucky to be ‘living’ at this spot.

Old Coastguard, Penzance

Old Coastguards Campsite is located just steps away from the stunning coastline, and provides a real blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. You kinda feel like you are at the end of the world here, with breathtaking sea views all around you. They have 3 composting toilets and 2 LPG showers on site, and two stunning beaches just a short walk away from the site. Plus you can see the Geevor tin mine museum from most of our pitches.

Henrys, The Lizard

Henry’s campsite in the Lizard kept getting recommended to me, and I finally visited it and wow, it did not disappoint. It’s been around for over 100 years, and you can tell - they’ve nailed it. Offering everything you could think of, including pizza and live music nights, a corner shop on site selling everything from sweets to suncream, as well a small farm, or ‘petting zoo’ where you can find Al Pacas, pigs and a very friendly goat.

The location is incredible too - the view from our pitch was the ocean, and just minutes from the campsite you are on the coastal path and a 30 minute stomp from the famous Kynance Cove - known for its beautiful rock formations and turquoise waters. It is absolutely stunning.

Henry’s is incredible quirky - so if you like pristine campsites this isn’t for you. It almost has a bit of a hippy vibe, and it totally works! The plants are also so beautiful - you can tell a lot of love and effort has gone into maintaining the grounds to keep it looking beautiful.

I also loved the classical music blaring out in the toilet and shower blocks - it’s touches like that that really differentiate a campsite!

BEDRUTHAN STEPS, NEWQUAY

Bedruthan Steps is only open for a few months of the year, so make sure you get down there this summer! It is located on the stretch of road between Padstow and Newquay, and boasts 14 acres of space. You can park wherever you want, and believe me - wherever you decide to pitch, you will have far-reaching views over the wild Atlantic. The sunsets are just incredible here.

They also have pop up vans on the campsite over the summer serving food and drinks, plus a wood fired sauna, sound bath workshops, a massage hut, yoga classes, and best of all - live music. Add this to your list immediately!

TREEN FARM, PENZANCE

And last but not least, Treen Farm Campsite. This campsite is located down in Penzance, right by Pedn Vounder beach - and there is a footpath leading directly to the beach. You will be greeted with absolutely incredible views within ten minutes of leaving your camping spot. Unfortunately they do not take bookings, so my advice is to get there super early to try to get a spot.
