A TWO WEEK ITINERARY FOR VANLIFE IN DEVON
I did a very quick two week trip to North Devon but absolutely fell in love with it! Here are my top recommendations:
CROYDE
Croyde is a popular spot for surfing, and I had some of my best surfs there as the waves seem a bit more gentle. I stayed at Freshwell Camping campsite which is a campsite right next to the beach - highly recommend! It’s very chill vibes [you choose where your pitch is], great facilities, and epic views of Croyde beach. Plus they have the Hippy Happy Hoppers on site which sell delicious Sri Lankan curry!
From the campsite there is a beautiful walk to Baggy’s Point along the coast, and if you are feeling energetic you can walk all the way to Woolacombe, past Putsborough beach.
Next door is the infamous Biffen’s Kitchen, which is a food stall selling amazing food and coffee. Both the breakie and dinner is well worth having! Have it to go and take to the beach for sunset.

New Coast Kitchen - great coffee and food
The Thatch Croyde - banging roast and a great place for drinks on a Sunday!
Ocean Pitch - another alternative to Freshwell Camping [it’s next door]
WOOLACOMBE
Woolacombe is next door to Putsborugh and Croyde, so again is great for surfing. There are some cute cafes and beach shops there, but what I highly recommend is going to Marine Drive car park for the day and parking up there - you will pay £6 for the entire day and have the most insane views! Perfect for sunset too, and you can nip down through the dunes to the beach.

Morthoe Bakery for a Pain au Chocolat
A coffee from Meraki
Lunch from Gobblebox
Have a take away Sri Lankan curry on Barricane beach
Have a hockings ice cream from Appledore or Instow
Squires Fish and Chips
Have a doughnut from Heatbreak Hotel [a van parked up on the Esplanade]
EXTRAS NOT TO MISS:
Bideford. This is a beautiful National Trust area, and don’t forget to check out Spekesmill waterfall!
Saunton Sands. This is another great surfing beach, just before Crodye. The lunch at the Beachside Grill was very good too.
